This is really cool! My approach to worldbuilding is usually seeing it through a character's eyes - like, I'll start writing a character and as they walk through the world, I add on more depending on what they see and feel and how they react to it - so it's almost like discovering it along with them. Downside of that is that it's a narrow view. I'd like to try the Iceberg technique at some point and sketch out a whole world top-down, really know it myself, before I choose what I reveal to the audience. A different exercise!

Totally get you! I had the same approach when I started to write this book. But got lost. So having a clear structure is a must have for me. Especially when it’s all connected and complex - since all is happening in far future on post apocalyptic “Earth”, there is too much to track and explore and one bad decision disconnects the logical elements; basically if I don’t understand it myself on a deeper level, who should then? :)
